As I've been very busy recently with work that sadly can't be posted here due to its 'secretive' nature, I've taken a scene that I created during last year and added the classic Ferrari model that I made into it. I'm quite pleased with the result, the whole image is 3D and modelled/rendered/Photoshopped by me! :)

This is a good example of how the HDRI can be used to put 3d models into real environments. The first image is the photo, the second has my model added.

I've recently been looking into HDRI lighting techniques a bit more and decided to create my own. I created my first HDR image today and just used it to light the R/C helicopter model. For a first attempt i'm quite pleased really!

Here are the homemade HDR image (spot the photographer!!) and the resulting helicopter render.

I had a little time this morning to add a few details to the helicopter model. It's fairly close to completion now with only a few minor details that need adding before I can start to texture it.

Here is another small update on the helicopter. The model is getting quite close to being finished now so hopefully one more update and it will be complete. Then the fun begins adding materials and lighting!

I have been so busy for the last few months that I have been neglecting the site a little. Must try harder! :)

I plan to create a model especially for my portfolio soon, as most of my work is of a confidential nature therefore can't be posted here.

In the mean time, here is a render done a couple of years ago of a shower area from a bathroom model that I worked on.

Pink Childs Bedroom

This is an altered version of the childs bedroom that I worked on a few months ago. I've based the colour scheme this time on a room that I've recently decorated in our house.

This demonstrates how easily 3d models can be manipulated to display different colour schemes etc, once the main model is in place.

As a comparison, I've added the original file underneath.

Shinfield Lodge

This is a project I worked on a few months back. It is the for the renovation and extension of a Georgian home in South East England. I was very pleased with the final images that I delivered, and also enjoyed working on the project due to its interesting nature.

I modelled the existing building from photographs and added the new building parts from architects plans.

The developer responsible for this impressive building project is Donfield Homes, whose kind permission allowed me to post up this image. The building project is currently under way.

Although not 3d, i've recently bought a dslr camera and i've been enjoying some free time taking a few photos with it. I've added a link to my Flickr page (on the right hand side) where I will be uploading some of my better efforts.

Finally i've managed to complete the image for the 250 GTO! I've tried to go for the vintage photo style. I have rendered a large version of this and I will be getting it printed out too.

Finally i've found enough spare time to complete the modeling stage of the 250 GTO project. Here is a quick 'studio' style render. There will be a lot more views of this car to come so this is just a little taster of the model really.

This is an alternative render of the walled 'new estate' house that i posted a while back. This is an older render and doesn't have some of the details that the walled version had.

Once the basic model is done its quite easy to make changes to render models in different surroundings.

I've posted the 2 versions as a comparison here. First the more basic house...

And secondly, the modified one with garage and more details such as a new porch etc...

I didn't model the Spyder - it is from existing CAD models, but i did apply all the materials and lighting. There is a 'before' and 'after' view, with my materials and lighting, and without.

This is a little personal project that I've worked on in my spare time this week. The new Fiat 500 is a 'Marmite' car, but I like it! I intend to add a few close up renders of details when I get a chance, hopefully in the next few days.
